Orange Belt Theory

Ippon Seoi-Nage
Ippon Seoi-Nage
Standing shoulder throw. Nice and effective if you can time this right during combat. Taking a standard grip on your partner/opponent, swing an arm underneath your opponents arm, turning your body in as you do so, using the power of your bent legs power your opponent up and over your shoulder, remember to keep hold to maintain control.

Harai-Goshi
Harai-Goshi
A nice hip throw with leg reap. Bring your arm over the top (if taller than opponent) or around the waist (if shorter than opponent), swing your hip into your opponent and as you feel their balance going, extend a leg to catch the side of their body and aid the throw...

Uki-Goshi
Uki-Goshi
Another hip tecnique. Using the guideline above, swing your hips all the way in this time and do not use the leg to reap with, nice deep major hip throw, and very effective when executed.

Juji-Gatame
Juji-Gatame
Straight arm lock. This is a highly effective ground work submission move, when you have your partner/opponent on the ground, placing one leg over the throat and the other kneeled up beside them, pull their arm down across your body, making sure the join of the arm cannot be bent downwards, give a nice pull and you should have a tap out before too long.

Kami-Shiho-Gatame
Kami-Shiho-Gatame
Another ground work hold down. Examine the picture above, it really is as simple as the picture makes out. Simply lay above your opponent bend the knees so you are kneeling slightly, place arms under opponents and grasp the jacket, place head on opponents chest, and voilla....done! :)

Yoko-Shiho-Gatame
Yoko-Shiho-Gatame
Yoko meaning Side, translates this to, side four quarters. Simply kneel next to your opponent, place an arm through the leg furtest away from you and grasp the jacket, the other hand place behind their neck, lay head on their chest and there you have it. Well done, thats the Orange belt theory completed.
