Visitors from Bad Ems (11 to 13 October 2007)
Members of Badems Judo Club and Droitwich Spa Judo Kan at The Mayor's Chambers, Droitwich Spa.
Carl and Claus Eschenauer (instructors) and student Alina Häublein from our twin judo club in Bad Ems, Germany, recently visited Droitwich Spa during a trip to England. While they were in the town they trained with us on Thursday 11 at our Westlands Club, and we were privileged to have them teach our students on Friday 12 at our Witton Club. Gifts were exchanged between the clubs, friendships were made, and we all enjoyed the experience.
On Friday morning they were taken to Birmingham by Peter Field, the Chairman of Droitwich Spa's Twinning Association who also gave them a guided tour of Droitwich in the afternoon. Late Friday afternoon we met at the Mayor's Chambers where we were entertained by the Mayor, Councillor Richard J. Morris, and The Mayoress, Dorothy Morris. We discussed the possibilty of Bad Ems Judo Club visiting with more of their members in 2009. Everyone present at the meeting was eager for the visit to go ahead, and help to organise it was promised by all.More images of the visit are here.
